Canada Ice Service - NO WEB QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM - Says Fury & Hecla Strait ice chart is Amundsen Gulf ice chart - WTHO?

Sliced and diced to get a full webpage to display - this is the url:
Named Admundsen Gulf but the ice chart graphic is Fury & Hecla Strait

Which do you think it is? Amundsen or an unnamed WMO chart of Fury & Hecla Strait? (How come WMO charts are not geographically named?)

You would think a Government Agency would have a quality assurance program in place - check and double checked?  Oh well, there are a lot of things with the Canada Ice Service I'd like to see improved.

Does anyone care?  Is sloppy work ok for vessel Arctic ice navigation? I wonder if you could even download the correct ice chart from a vessel at sea - without Internet web-browser the chart name would be wrong and hence the downloaded graphic would also be wrong.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

Comments welcome.

Yes indeed the CIS makes these mistakes about every month. Maybe the webmaster or his supervisor needs a day without pay when his staff screws up? Undoubtedly he does not look at their work or supervise well.

Bottom line... ALWAYS check what CIS provides... anyone attempting a NW Passage should check in and establish a routine comms schedule so the Authorities know where and how to contact you.
